| Team AMSOIL Dominates We-Rock Podium | |
| The AMSOIL/Torchmate rock racing team competed at the We-Rock event in Oroville, Calif. on the weekend of July 18. In the Unlimited class, Jesse Haines and Brian Howard finished the day in fourth place, earning second overall for the series. In the Pro-Mod class, Bill Kunz and Mike Shaffer finished fifth, earning third overall for the series. Brad and Roger Lovell put together a consistent effort and were the only team to finish all eight of the weekend’s regular courses. Although they led the Pro-Mod field going into the finals, rival Tracy Jordan capitalized on a near-perfect run to take the win. The upsetting defeat was quickly overshadowed by a larger victory, however, as the Lovells earned their third We-Rock series championship and sixth pro rock crawling series championship in as many years.

| Smith Earns Three Top 10 Finishes |
| Team AMSOIL late model racer Brady Smith wrapped up the World of Outlaws Late Model Series Wild West Tour July 14-16 with a pair of races in Wyoming and South Dakota. Competing at the Gillette Thunder Speedway in Gillette, Wyo. on July 14, Smith timed in sixth quickest in qualifying and ran second in his competitive heat race before finishing sixth in the final rundown.
The Wild West Tour finale took place on July 16 at the Dakota State Fair Speedway in Huron, S.D. After laying down the fourth-fastest lap during time trials and finishing fifth in his heat race, Smith made a charge to the second position in the A-Main before a flat left rear tire ended his march through the field on lap 39. He returned to the speedway to salvage a ninth place finish. Last week, Smith traveled to Ohio and Pennsylvania for the annual Ohio Speedweek. While poor weather conditions postponed scheduled races in Zanesville, Ohio and Hammett, Pa., Smith won his B-Main at the Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio before passing 12 cars in the feature event for a strong fifth place finish. Although he was running fourth at the Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio, a mechanical failure pushed him to 22nd. Smith emerges from Ohio Speedweek seventh in the World of Outlaws Late Model Series point standings. |
